Synopsis

A seasoned late-night radio producer on the night he turns fifty realizes, with unease, that he no longer belongs among the youth. While he unravels his life on air and messages from a distant past are transmitted from a forgotten answering machine, an old love affair left in limbo comes back to haunt him. The army services at the National Guard Evzones, the silent nocturnal audience, a midnight marathon, the dimly lit Athenian antiquities and the nocturnal landscape, all mingle nostalgically and dreamily with the radio waves…

Short bio of the director

Renos, an actor and director, is consider one of the pioneer directors of the modern Greek indie cinema with his first films “No Budget Story” and “Cheap Smokes”. He is best known to the Greek audience from his successful tv and theatre works. "Cheap Smokes" was adapted to musical presented at the Greek National Opera with critical acclaim and sold -out shows in 2021. His movie "Four black Suits " was staged as a musical performance at the Megaron – Athens Concert Hall in 2022. “Athens Midnight Radio” will be his fifth feature film.

Short Bio of the producer

Angelo Venetis is the managing director and founding member of Boo Productions. His film credits include “Apples” by Christos Nikou (Opening Film - Venice Orizzonti, Telluride, Toronto 2020), “Dogtooth” by Yorgos Lanthimos (Oscar Nominee for Foreign Language Film/Prix Un Certain Regard, Cannes 2009), “Attenberg” by Athina Tsangari (Coppa Volpi for Best Actress, Venice 2010), 4 Black Suits by Renos Haralambidis (Preselection for the European Film Awards 2010). In 2021 the feature documentary “Memento” by Nikos Ziogas premiered in the 23rd TDF where it awarded the GFC Award for Best Greek Debut film.  In 2022 he was the Greek producer for Amazon Prime’s Emmy nominated TV series “Daisy Jones & The Six”. Angelo has also produced for Boo Productions numerous award-winning TV and internet campaigns for major clients and international brands.
