Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs
Pierre-Ernest Ier de Mansfeld
Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs
In the 16th century, the building of today's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs served as the residence of Peter Ernst I von Mansfeld, the Luxembourg governor of the Spanish king. A little later, under French occupation, the Sun King Louis XIV also used the rooms with their particularly beautiful view over the valley during his stays in Luxembourg.
Before the renovation work in 2013, the Mansfeld building housed the Palace of Justice until 2008, after which the street is still named today.
