Bacon, a sacralised vision of the human being

Guided tour

with Nathalie Becker

The notion of the sacred in Francis Bacon's work is complex and ambiguous, although it is not explicitly religious. It is not celestial, but profoundly earthly and corporeal. The artist's paintings, often characterised by raw violence and emotional intensity, focus on spiritual themes, notably suffering, anguish, isolation and vulnerability in the face of our own finitude. This guided tour will be in French. From ECHO.lu
