Screenings on Inclusion - queer short film night

This year, the Cercle Cité continues its series of screenings of short films and artists' films, which will address different aspects of inclusion, accessibility, integration and discrimination in a philosophical and original way.

These topics are highly debatable in a society that on the one hand is becoming more and more aware of the subject of identity and diversity, but which nevertheless faces difficulties in adapting to this new awareness. Migration and feminism, the search for (artistic) identity, the rights of people with special needs, the rights of people belonging to the LGBTQIA+ group and the challenges of parenthood: the themes linked to these debates are multifaceted and affect many of us.

The queer short film night is a new format organised in collaboration with Rosa Lëtzebuerg asbl.

The three selected short films follow three different protagonist couples, shedding light on the different facets and challenges of love, sexuality, and relationships.

Zara Dwinger, Yulia & Juliet, 2018: Yulia and Juliet, both 16, are locked up in a closed juvenile detention centre. Despite their circumstances, they feel like they can take on anything together. They’re in love, but then Juliet is released.

Andree Ljutica, How to Say I Love You at Night, 2020: When Paul refuses to leave, Benny's easy night of sex and drugs takes a strange turn in this sixteen-minute single-take film exploring notions of male-on-male intimacy, sexuality, and violence.

Beck Kitsis et Chris McNabb, Valentine, 2022: With gender and identity in flux, Corey and Mia struggle to redefine their relationship.

The evening will conclude with a round table discussion hosted by Rosa Lëtzebuerg.
