If the sounds of the city have you wishing for some peace and quiet then perhaps getting lost in a book will help you regain your strength for tackling more city adventures. Just a short tram ride from the city centre, you will find the Bibliothèque National du Luxembourg (BNL). Not only is it a stunning building but it also comes with the option of enjoying a nice coffee…or cocktail. I personally believe that the magic of visiting a library is getting lost in the aisles of books because you never know what title will whisper “Read me”…and there are so many aisles! Luckily, lockers are offered so you will be free to roam without having to carry your coat and bag. The BNL is beautifully laid out and contains books in many languages. There are numerous reading spots ranging from comfy, individual chairs to nooks that make it feel like you are all alone to communal couches. The space is filled with natural light and basic colors that are bright and welcoming yet soothing. Once you have recharged, you can head down to the BNL Café for a cappuccino and a snack. Or, if you are ready for something heavier, the café offers a range of cocktails and beer. Like all libraries, a library card is required to take out books, however, visiting the library for a quiet break may be just what you need to get you in the mood for more exploration.
