The "Kasemattentheater" was founded by Tun Deutsch on December, 11th, 1964 under its official name "Centre Grand-Ducal d'Art Dramatique" a.s.b.l. Tun Deutsch wanted to create in the sixities a vanguard theatre that not only attracted the intellectual bourgeoisie but also a wider audience.
