Founded in 1995, den Atelier is a renowned concert venue in Luxembourg City. It hosts over 120 concerts annually, featuring local and international artists across various genres. About Hollerich district
In 1920, the former municipality of Hollerich was merged with Luxembourg City.
The former parish of Hollerich is mentioned as far back as the 10th century. In the Middle Ages, this area consisted of farms, stone quarries and lime kilns, which delivered their products to the nearby city and Fortress of Luxembourg.
Very soon, small manufacturing sites popped up here. After Hollerich was connected to the Luxembourg railway network and its first train station was opened in 1859, industry and trade prospered in this neighbourhood.
The population doubled very quickly and by the end of the 19th century, Hollerich had become one of the most dynamic municipalities in the country.
